Sci-Vi (science visualization) seminar at NOVA for PhD students (25th and 29th November 24)

Sci-Vi (science visualization) Seminar is a week-long free event between the 25th and 29th of November 2024 at NOVA FCSH in Lisbon at Colégio Almada Negreiros Campolide. This event is directed at PhD students, researchers, and faculty members who want to benefit from practicing presenting their research and learning more about the visualization possibilities that can help them reach their target audience, whether peer-to-peer communication, funding application, teaching, or informing the public. We created a program introducing theory presented by visual communication and science communication professionals and practice by matching the researchers to the invited animators to discuss their research topic and create short animated videos.

Promoting research to the public is essential to scientists’ work. Whether communicating to the general public, funding bodies, policymakers, or potential collaborators, the challenge remains: How do we translate complex, specialized research into a clear and engaging format? A great way to bridge this gap is through scientific visualization. The seminar will focus on the use of animation and how science animation enables the communication of intricate scientific concepts visually and intuitively that resonate with a broad audience.

If you are interested in how Sci-Vi can help you promote your research, join the seminar! For application, the students are required to fill out the online application form:
