iNOVA Media Lab is the laboratory of two advanced education programs.
The Digital Media PhD program, proposed by the University of Porto and NOVA University of Lisbon, provides specialized training in the field of Digital Media, fostering a culture of innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship and mutual support between undergraduate students, professors and industry partners. The Digital Media PhD Program involves a full year of courses, including theoretical, methodological and laboratory-based work. By the middle of the second year, students present their dissertation research ideas, in order to the remaining two years working on their original research.
The program particularly encourages applicants who work at the intersections of digital media arts, sciences and technologies and seek an interdisciplinary approach. The iNOVA Media Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art technological resources. The program annually offers four vacancies. Further information can be consulted here.
The Master’s in New Media and Web Practices articulates media arts, science and technology, affirming its STE(A)M nature, and working in conjunction with NOVA FCSH’s digital infrastructure, in particular, with the iNOVA Media Lab digital innovation laboratory. The program is aligned with the options of the INCoDe2030 strategy, in particular in the current requirements of digital transition and transformation in education and in the professional world, as well as in the digital innovation dimension of the National Strategy for Smart Specialization and the Framework Community 2021-2027, in particular in strengthening the transfer of knowledge and technology between academia and university.
